Extrait du document

This document is apparently a copy of the official Etat de la maison du Roy, dated 1 July 1776, signed by the King and countersigned by the secretary of State for the King’s Household, Amelot de Chaillou. The first column is the office or position, the second has the name of the holders (sometimes with the name of the expectant successor), the third has the wages in livres. The total of 482,000 livres is a little over 1% of total expenditures of the French government at the time. A major reform of the King’s Household in 1780 abolished a number of these offices.
